Experienced Native Teacher to Progress Rapidly in Italian
Buongiorno ! Sono Eleonora Vieri.
I am very happy to meet you from all over the world and to welcome you to the beautiful place where I live in Castiglione del Lago in Umbria, on the magnificent shore of the LagoTrasimeno. When we speak, later on, I will be glad to learn a few things about you, where you live, and what you do.
So, let me introduce myself and tell you a few things about me.
I have always been very curious about the world and more specifically about the people that live in countries I was dreaming to discover. Loving my country as I do, I would like to share the culture and history, the art and beauty, the food and wines and the wonderful quality of life we have here.
And for the past 15 years, I’ve been so fortunate to do just this. I’ve been teaching Italian as a foreign language to people from all over the world, of all ages and backgrounds. This work has enlightened me, and I hope I have done the same for them. Actually, I know I did, as you will see in the testimonials somewhere on the site.
After graduating in Linguistics in the Department of Foreign Languages and Literature Studies , and obtaining the Certificate DITALS II (Teaching Italian as a Foreign Language), I started as Portuguese tutor at the Centro Linguistico of Ateneo ( University of Perugia ), before starting to teach Italian as a foreign language at the Accademia Lingua Italiana Assisi in Perugia. My professional field has always involved languages.
I am presently teaching in a private school of Italian for Foreigners in Italy. I have been working with beginners as well as intermediate and advanced students. I have always taught to very small groups or on an individual basis. My students are college students sent abroad by their university as well as professionals, or retired people and even diplomatic personal sent by their embassy in nearby Roma to rapidly achieve a good level of fluency in the Italian language.
Passionate, Experienced and Dedicated Teacher
For quite a few years now, I’ve also been teaching as well on the net through Skype since it allows me to keep the direct and responsive connection so essential to get my students to progress efficiently. I have been told I am a passionate, experienced and dedicated teacher, I stay open to suggestions and demands in order to accommodate my students so that I can offer them the best opportunity to progress.
In addition, I have to say that this enriching process works both ways; a few years ago one of my students got me interested in oenology. I followed his advice and soon became as passionate as he told me I would be: I have just graduated with a degree of Sommelier and am now teaching at the school – in italian of course – , a module designed to help our students discover the wonderful wines we have here in Tuscany and Umbria!
My thrust for sharing has also extended to cooking – including eating in good company, – and our animal friends as well.
